ノルウェーのソングライターチームDsign Music(デザインミュージック)

Dsign Musicは、2005年に結成されたノルウェーの作詞作曲/制作チームです。
アメリカやアジアなど、色んな国のアーティストたちと楽曲作業をしています。
少女時代をはじめEXO、BoA、SHINee、f(x)、イ・ヒョリなど多くのK-POPヒット曲を制作しています。

主なメンバーは、CEO Robin Jenssen(ロビン・ジェンセン)、Anne Judith Wik(ソングライター、トップライナー、歌手)、Nermin Harambašić(ソングライター、トップライナー、プロデューサー)、Ronny Svendsen(ロニー・スヴェンセン)(ソングライター、プロデューサー、作曲家)、Jin Suk Choi aka JINBYJIN(アジアのヘッド、ソングライター、プロデューサー、作曲家)です。

トップライナーとは、トラックのグルーヴを生かして、歌詞と一体となるメロディーを生み出す作曲家を指します。 コライト(共同制作)という制作スタイルが主流である欧米では主にトップライナー、トラックメイカー、シンガーが共同で楽曲を制作します。

Dsign MusicのK-POP楽曲制作の流れはこんな感じです。
ますDsign Musicチームが作ったデモテープをSMエンターテイメントなどの事務所に送ります。事務所の人たちが曲を選び、ラップのパートを入れたい、メロディーを変えたいなどの修正する部分を決めてDsign Musicに指示します。ある程度輪郭ができたら、メンバーたちのパートと振り付けを考えながら曲を修正していく。
と、言った感じです。
色んな国の作曲家たちと共にスタジオに集まり作業するソング・キャンプで楽曲を共同制作することもあります。
1人の作曲家がすべてを担当するのではなく、トラックを作る人やメロディーを作る人などが共同して作業を行うコライト(共同制作)で楽曲は制作されていきます。

K-POPアイドルの曲を海外のソングライターに楽曲制作を依頼する場合この共同制作方式を多く取り入れているので作曲家にたくさんのコンポーザーの名前が連なっているのです。

Dsign Musicは、2019年にスウェーデンのストックホルムのSofoエリアに、EKKO TheLabと呼ばれる10スタジオがある複合施設を共同設立しました。EKKO theLabでは毎月色んな国の作曲家たちと共にスタジオに集まり作業する“ソング・キャンプ”が開催されています。
